About the Team

  • Making the Team:

    • All new swimmers must swim one 25 yard freestyle lap in 40 seconds or less (10 & under) or 50 yards (12 & up) 1:20 or less & tread water for 1:00.

    • The 25 & 50-yard swim must be a continuous swim (no holding the rope or wall). 

  • Aronimink Swim Team is broken up into: 

    • Little Waves and Big Waves (for practices):

      • Little Waves- Age 10 & under or little experience with competitive swimming.

      • Big Waves- Age 11 & up or very experienced with competitive swimming.

  • Each summer swim season consists of:

    • Practices: Monday-Friday (afternoon practice may differ)

      • Little Waves Practice: 60 minutes​

      • Big Waves Practice: 90-120 minutes

    • 4 Junior Varsity swim meets (Tuesday Mornings)

    • 5 Varsity swim meets (Wednesday Nights)

    • 1 qualifying championship meet (End of July)

    • 1 non-qualifying championship meet (End of July)

  • Practice Schedule

    • Little Waves (10 & under)​

        • 5:00 PM-6:00 PM

        • Monday-Thursday

        • June 7-10th & June 15-17th

      • Morning practices

        • Start Monday, June 21st​

        • 8:00 AM- 9:00 AM

    • Big Waves (11 & up):​

        • 6:00 PM-7:15 PM​

        • Monday-Thursday

        • June 7-10th & June 15-17th

        • 8:15 AM- 9:45 AM
